Isn’t it amazing that some of those who preached Christ to us and brought us to Jesus are too far from us that we do not know how to reach them so we could show our act of kindness towards them. One of these was the young man who crossed my part once for a life time and never to be seen again.
I do wish to see him again so as to show my little act of appreciation towards him, but the challenge is I don’t even know how to recognize him. I have completely forgotten the image of his face talk-less how he looks.
All I can do for him is to offer prayers of thanks to God for him and pray that God will continue to promote and keep him as Christ lives and dwells in him. Now am 26 years and I’ve got a story to tell too.
It happened on one beautiful afternoon on my way home from school. As a young boy about the age of 13, I do walk back home after school.
Often time I pass through the Lagos State University, because it has a shorter link to my house. That day (I cannot remember precisely), as I walked along the road alone (very close to the university gate), a young man (an undergraduate of that university) called for my attention and told me he did like to speak with me privately.
AT FIRST I WAS NOT TOO COMFORTABLE BECAUSE MAMA HAS WARNED ME TO STOP TALKING TO STRANGERS, yet somehow I stayed to listen to what he has to say. He then decided to preach to me as grandmother will tell her little grandchildren exciting stories.
I mean, often times Mama has always taken me to church, but none of the teachers did touched my heart like this guy did. He continued to talk as we climbed over the pedestrian bridge right in front of the Campus Gate.
After about fifteen minutes of preaching, he asked if I would like to receive Christ into my life, I said yes… He prayed with me and that was it. The funniest thing is that I can’t even remember one thing that he told me now, BUT ONE AMAZING THING I REMEMBERED IS THAT, HE GAVE ME ONE HUNDRED NAIRA as transport fare home, because he claimed he has taken most of my time.
Like the Word says, “One sowed, the other waters but it is God that gives life”. Someone would like me to mention his name, but it so absurd that I never even asked.
He didn’t tell me and I don’t think if he sees me he would remember who I am. BUT ONE THING I HAVE KEPT IN MY MIND, IS THAT WHEN I GET TO HEAVEN I WILL SURELY RECOGNIZE HIM.
TILL THEN… FROM ME TO HIM… “BE ALIVE IN CHRIST”. MY GREETINGS .
