I was born into a Christian family, my parents are catholic (now born again and full of the Holy Ghost), we all go to church every Sunday morning and my elder sisters and brothers attend catechism when required. We were members of a catholic church although not sure we knew what it meant to be born again or if we had been taught the message of salvation.
In November 1991 on a Friday, I was a very young lad recently transitioned from Primary to Secondary School. On that glorious day, I was out of our house playing with my friends down the street – actually we were playing the table tennis (ping-pong game); while playing on the street as lads, some other set of young people approached us and one of them happened to be a known friend (school mate) to my best friend Temitope Awoyinfa (Now born again and full of the Holy Ghost).
We were invited for an outreach organised for teenagers / youth the next day - Saturday, which I believe it would have been a cell/PCF outreach meeting. Pastor Solayinka was the person that taught us God’s words that day, I may not remember the exact message, but she preached a unique message in the light of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Christ Embassy.
Stil trying to remember I believe that message was on the love of God, what Jesus came to do for man – about salvation and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. After the message the urge was there and the altar call was made, so I responded to the call of salvation and said the salvation prayer as Pastor Solayinka led us; there I gave my heart and life to Jesus Christ to be the Lord of my life – boy! I was born again.
The meeting ended and we were all invited to church the next day to worship at Christ Embassy. On that Sunday, I and my friend Temitope made service that morning and the very 1st time I heard Pastor Chris preached, my goodness the message was different, powerful and very gracious that I had to give my heart and life to Jesus again.
Stood up and also welcomed as a 1st timer, we were taken to a room to be ministered to to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit – which I did that day and spoke in tongues. Since that day I have been a vital member of ministry, a custodian and able minister of the gospel of Christ.
