In January 1994, there was an uncontrollable urge in my spirit to surrender my heart to Christ. It began with the message of the Second Coming of Christ (i.
e Rapture), which I had heard over the years as a growing young boy; it miraculously and seriously preoccupied my mind and heart. Coupled with the fact that a new year had just began, it enraptured my heart.
A very strong series of questions then arose in my heart: “Your name is Christian but are you sure you are a true Christian? Are you born again? You bear a godly name but are you godly yourself?” I found out later in life that it was the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking into my heart. Not knowing what to do, I started studying my Bible asking God to show me how to really be a Christian.
At this particular time my parents had no idea of what true Christianity was because only my mum was rarely going to Church; my dad was not going at all. Prior to this material time, he was telling us that everybody should get ready to be converted to Islam.
Angry about the statement, my appetite to know God increased; the question for true Christianity boiled in my heart to immeasurable degree. I couldn’t hide this; I took some steps further to be regular in Church.
The Church I was attending then was the very one my mum claimed membership of. Although I went alone, most of the times I could not hear any message commensurate with the degree of craving for God in my spirit.
I then resorted to prayer: “Lord, help me! I want to truly love and serve You with my life. What should I do?” My prayer was answered; in February 1994 (same year), I was led by the Holy Spirit to a group of believers called Christian Life Fellowship (CLF) Idah.
This group seemed to love God the way I encountered. Even though it consists of believers from different denominations, because of my hunger for God, I participated in their meetings and was led to Christ and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
Around 1999 I started watching Pastor’s programs on Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) Benin while still in Idah. I loved the worship and the spirit of the message.
I said in my heart, ”I will join this ministry anywhere I find it near. " In 2003 I did just that when I was in Makurdi.
Since then I have been moving from glory to glory. I give God the glory for the opportunity to worship and serve God in this ministry.
Great thanks also to our Man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD for this platform to share my salvation story or testimony. I was saved to fulfill divine destiny; to win more souls into the Kingdom of God.
I started from my Jerusalem (my family) getting them born again one after another most especially through my testimonies: every one could see a supernatural turnaround. I then proceeded to my school, my Samaria as it were, from JSS 3 till my SSS 3.
At the time (same1994), I decided to identify with the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS). Because of my commitment, I was appointed as financial secretary, president and zonal president controlling seven schools.
At the same time, I was appointed as prayer coordinator in CLF. As my passion increased, I went round some villages with friends preaching till I went to higher institution of learning.
And as I joined CHRIST EMBASSY, I have better knowledge and passion and am still at it and still will. Praise the Lord.
Am forever grateful to God. HALLELUJAH!.
