My name is Abiodun Kolapo and I hail from Ibadan in the South Western part of Nigeria. My mother and father attends the Anglican Church and I can say they were devout.
In our household you have to go to church every Sunday morning the only option is if you are so unwell to the point of not been able to walk and also you dare go to church late. Or else you meet with concrete justice.
We go to church for going sake to pass away the time and also to off our knowledge and brilliance. And when we grew older we go to church to eye the "babes".
I was not naughty, I was who you can call "a good boy". The thought was if I am good what else do I need?.
My real first encounter with Christ was when I was healed of asthma. When I was young I suffered from asthma.
When I have the attacks it used to be very serious to the level that I cannot take up to about 10 steps without having to stop and rest. To lift one hand becomes so difficult.
At this age my mother (of blessed memory) used to put me on her back. There was a revival by a popular man of God Rev Iyanda.
I went to the meeting but stood some distance away from the rest of the congregation. He prayed for healing, I believed I was healed and truly the asthma was gone.
I eventually got born again when a group of youths (older than me) who had broken away from the Anglican Church returned with the true message of salvation. The Holy Spirit was ministered to me the same day.
The only thing I can remember that day was feeling "quite strange" and also a bit unsure. The message we heard was that of " a sinner in the hand of an angry God".
As such I was saying to myself what has change in your life now that you are born again. It was like looking for an evidence of my salvation.
The Holy Spirit then begin to make me see that the nature of sin has been removed, the things I used to do before without thinking twice have now become extremely difficult. I joined the Christ Embassy Church in 2009 and it has been a glorious experience ever since.
Thank you Pastor Chris for being my Father, Pastor and Teacher. God Bless You Abundantly.
