EFE DANIEL IRELEN SALVATION STORYIt was in the year 1993,I was quite young then! I remember I was on holiday then,I woke up one morning and looking around the whole world look so different. I had this feeling that I was a stranger on earth because of the void I felt in my heart.
Before this time I was raised up going to church though my parents were just nominal christians, during this period I attended a bible study class in my former church,Church of God mission Benin city. I could remember the topic was : ‘’The surprise at Ai.
’’ This teaching centred on the defeat of the Isrealites by a small country named Ai in their conquering of the promised land and what subsequently lead to it i. e Achan’s sin! Though this teaching was suppose to be a historical account, but it got me thinking which was the reason for the feeling I mentioned earlier.
This led to so many other things but one thing I remembered was that in a subsequent service I came out to be born again when an altar call was made. I could remember after this experience, waking up one morning the world looked so different, the way the sun shun, the way the breeze blew all felt so different and a feelling of belonging to the world replaced the former feelling of not having a stake in the world.
Eventually, when school resumed I could not wait to tell my friends about my new experience which led my joining the school christian fellowship and consequently preaching from class to class while in school and street to street when at home! Believers’ Loveworld campus fellowship, My encounter with this unique fellowship was in my first as an undergraduate studying Industrial mathematics at University of Benin. As a freshman, I was allocated a bedspace but there were these two students,my seniors who were occupying the space temporarily due to the fact that they were swindled of their money for the apartment they paid for and as a result they didn’t have any other place to stay.
On my confronting these guys there was this unusual confidence and reluctancy in them to evacuate the bedspace, this lead me to reporting them to the authorities, but amidst this they were inviting me to their ‘fellowship’ i. e BLW-campus fellowship ( UNIBEN ).
Because of the way they took the whole matter despite my harse response to them, I made up my mind to attend though I had insisted that I was a member of CGM. The next service day I found my way to BLW fellowship.
