Glory be to the Lord God in the Highest !My Name is Sis. Dorcas Emiewo, I grew up from a christian home and was brought up in the word of God.
This included especially the part of Holiness and Righteousness with a great consciousness of Sin. This consciousness made me give my life to God almost every time an alter call was made.
I always felt great terror and fear in my heart because of the uncertainty of my christianity and the probability of going to hell and ending up finally in the lake of fire. I could remember, back in secondary school (Federal Govt.
Girls College Bida, Niger state), where I attended the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS). Every Sunday after the terrorizing sermon, I'll go back to my hostel feeling sober and worried about my future and how any little thing I do-off the will of God might just bring damnation.
This made me to live a very cautious life, not in freedom of the word despite being born again, but in fear. I saw the movie 'Burning Hell' and oh my God! I trembled all week, I occassionally even had nightmares of how terrible it was going to be.
Looking back at my life; I was not a bad child growing up, I was obedient, sweet, respectful, helpful and studious. I did'nt steal or lie because I did'nt have the strong heart to do so.
I was just fearful !
This continued till I was in SS3 and Came in contact with the royalties cell of Christ Embassy in my area back in lagos. I attended cell meetings occasionally at that time, and had the privilege of hearing that as long as I had given my life to Christ, that I was born again and all I had to do was study the word of God and grow.
This brought an end to the first stage of fear. Later on, when I got into the university, I joined the campus ministry, Believer's love world where I heard the word of God richly and gained a consciousness of the presence of the holy spirit and his ministry in my life.
Right now, I am no more terrorized by the consciousness of sin, or hell because I am a child of God who has eternal life and dominion over the devil! I know who I am in Christ and I am growing daily in his word Hallelujah! I am enjoying my beautiful life with Authority and no fear, in Christ Jesus. .
